Scotland, Texas & the Road to the Grand Ole Opry | Callum Kerr
Callum Kerr’s road to country music doesn’t exactly follow the traditional Nashville blueprint.
Born in Scotland, raised in Texas and now based in Nashville, Callum has carried pieces of all three places into the artist he’s becoming. At CMA Fest 2025, he joined Heart of the Gulch at a major turning point in that journey — with his debut EP Roots Under Me on the way and his first Grand Ole Opry performance officially on the calendar.

From Scotland to Texas to Tennessee
Callum’s relationship with country music stretches across continents.
His Scottish beginnings and Texas upbringing gave him a perspective that doesn’t fit neatly into one place, while moving to Nashville allowed him to pursue that connection to country music on a completely different level.
That journey now sits at the heart of Roots Under Me, his debut EP and a fitting title for an artist whose roots have never been limited to a single hometown.
Building Toward Roots Under Me
Before the EP, Callum began introducing himself through songs like “Tequila Therapy” and “Tamed by Tennessee.”

Those releases helped establish his sound while he continued building his career in Nashville, eventually signing with ONErpm and Huff Co.
Now, Roots Under Me represents the next step — bringing those influences and experiences together in his first larger body of work.
Dustin Lynch Had One Big Surprise
Then came a message Callum wasn’t expecting.
Country star Dustin Lynch surprised him with a video revealing that Callum would make his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 26.
For an artist who traveled from Scotland to Texas and eventually Nashville, stepping onto the Opry stage represents something much bigger than another performance.
It’s one of those career moments that makes the long road getting there feel worth it.
And for Callum Kerr, it looks like that road is only getting started.
