Franni Cash brings “Honest To God” to Heart of the Gulch for an intimate studio performance alongside her husband, producer and musical collaborator Austin Cain.
Taken from Cash’s debut solo album, Here I Am, the performance strips the song down to Franni’s lead vocal with Austin on guitar and background vocals, putting the husband-and-wife musical partnership at the center of this special Heart of the Gulch performance.

Host and creator Tony Mendoza welcomes Franni Cash and Austin Cain for a studio performance of “Honest To God,” featured on Cash’s debut solo album, Here I Am.

During her full conversation with Tony Mendoza, Cash explains that “Honest To God” is one example of the Nashville songwriting approach she embraced while creating the record: taking a familiar phrase and turning it into something with a different meaning.

The album ultimately emerged from more than 200 songs and explores Cash’s experiences with faith, identity, family, religious trauma and rebuilding her life and career as a solo artist.
